Getting Started with OUR PILATES Reformer CLASSES

To attend any of our reformer classes, you'll first need to complete a Reformer Orientation session or a private session. Even if you have prior reformer experience elsewhere this is required in order to join our classes at Fit and Fabulous.

  • Reformer Orientation (small group): Priced the same as a single reformer class, perfect for those with some Pilates experience. Check out the timetable below and follow the link to book in.
Orientation sessions are held on Saturdays at 11.30am.

  • Private Session: Highly recommended if you're new to Pilates, over 65, or have any injuries, medical conditions, or movement limitations. Click here to send an email to request a private session time. Please provide a few days and times that suitable for you.

What to Expect During Your Orientation or Private Session

Depending on your previous Pilates Mat and/or Reformer experience, this session provides an assessment for our instructor team and may cover some or all of the following:

  • Reformer Basics: Learn how to set up and adjust the reformer for various exercises, minimizing downtime and maximizing your workout.

  • Exercise Confidence: Practice a variety of movements to build confidence and competence for future classes.

  • Safety Tips: Understand common mistakes and how to avoid potentially unsafe movements while recognising your limits.

  • Tailored Modifications: Receive personalised modifications based on your fitness and comfort levels.

  • Alignment Check: Get your form, alignment, and core engagement assessed to ensure safe and effective exercise execution.

  • A Full-Body Challenge: No matter your fitness level, you'll leave feeling accomplished and energised!

Important Notes

  • These sessions are not a replacement for rehabilitation or physiotherapy-based Pilates.

  • If you’re recovering from an injury or have specific physical limitations, please book a private session first. Group classes may not be suitable for people with certain conditions such as osteoporosis, vertigo, chronic back pain or balance issues.
